RNG projects have the potential to create a variety of economic benefits to the State of Illinois by transforming the high cost of disposing waste into a local asset. The systems required to allow for RNG, like Anaerobic digester and biogas upgrading systems, are robust construction projects that require skilled expertise in site work, plumbing, electrical, permitting and concrete that will provide work for many different local contractors and industries.
Just one RNG project can yield over $475 million in total economic output over the project life, resulting in 225 jobs created during construction and 45 from project operations.
